The fourteenth floor of the Hotel Grand Chancellor played host to the NZSDA's annual conference recently where part of the attraction for sign makers was a competition to 'wrap' identical cars with a promotional graphic. The vehicles were all supplied by the Christchurch City Council and sign industry suppliers 3M New Zealand, Avery Graphics, Vinyl Source, Jenrite NZ, Aarque Graphics and Blue Print Imaging all combined their expertise to provide seven, three-man teams with enough graphics to cover the seven Toyotas the Council provided.

Sponsored by Auckland based NZSDA members, G W Design Ltd who specialise in creating graphic designs that take on form and shape with application, and the team at Vinyl Source, the seven teams worked frantically over one day of the conference to wrap the vehicles. Judging was based on the quality of the workmanship and attention to detail.  This saw the teams working around and on door handles, door mirrors, and various badges and lighting fixtures to provide a seamless finish to the vehicles being wrapped.

At the end of the day the team from GAS Graphic Application Specialists were the winning team and for their efforts will be off to Fiji for a week for some well earned rest and relaxation.
